Bristol Bay Native Corporation
Developing a
legacy campaign.
Residents and shareholders reported (in annual research conducted by S360) that they weren’t fully aware of BBNC’s role in their lives or the Alaska economy. S360 was tasked with repositioning BBNC, and Bristol Bay, as an intricate and valuable part of Alaska’s culture and future.
-
The Strategy
Our strategy was to differentiate BBNC from the corporate universe, driven by a commitment to serve their members emotional and financial well being. The campaign “More than a Corporation’’ launched and has run continually across integrated channels, allowing an “always on” strategy. Our multichannel approach, which is especially challenging in Alaska, means that BBNC is better able to reach shareholders and community members across the state.
-
The Results
Our approach has elevated BBNC’s brand awareness by two times in the years since its inception, confirmed by S360’s statewide brand awareness poll. The creative content has won awards, and most importantly, our work has set a new bar for Alaska Native Corporations’ communication moving forward.

What we did
A partnership to reach locals, and sports fans.
To get in front of students, parents, and fans – and remind them of the critical importance of Bristol Bay – we developed the “Race through Bristol Bay” to run during a break at every basketball game. During game breaks, a fan would be selected by a host to place a bet on the salmon they believed would win. If their fish won they went home with a salmon plushie. We supported the program with environmental display wraps around campus and a selfie station.
