Bristol Bay Wild Market

As Seattle established its first hockey team, the Seattle Kraken, S360 spotted an opportunity to facilitate a partnership between a longtime client, the Bristol Bay Native Corporation and the team. The partnership would be mutually beneficial, giving Bristol Bay Native Corporation and its seafood subsidiaries a fantastic opportunity to promote the region and the industry through sponsorship of a professional hockey team.

S360 supported this partnership from early introductions and negotiations through plan implementation. We took time early to understand the needs for each entity and support them through decision making processes. Because we were embedded within those early conversations, we were ready to support the outcomes of the partnership. Included in the partnership was a brand new marketplace within the Kraken’s homebase, Climate Pledge Arena. In a matter of days following the partnership agreement, the beginning of the Bristol Bay Wild Market was born. We developed a market that not only highlights the sustainably-sourced seafood of Bristol Bay, but also the people and culture of the Bristol Bay region. The launch campaign included TV, radio, display and social channels as well as a brand new website to promote the marketplace.

We helped negotiate a 5-year contract between the Seattle Kraken and BBNC. S360’s media relations engagement received coverage from nearly every major news outlet in Seattle and Alaska. Our promotion included activations in Seattle and Anchorage, featuring team players engaged with Alaska Native youth players, the arena’s executive chef, the team’s owner and coaching staff.  The Bristol Bay Wild Market materials became the best-case partnership example for the Seattle Kraken marketing team.
