As Account Manager in the Strategies 360 San Diego office, Maria (she/her/ella) is responsible for working with the San Diego team to develop and implement communications and public affairs strategies on behalf of clients. She specializes in community engagement, government affairs, and international relations, and can offer clients impactful insights to support their outreach needs.

Maria has previously worked with an array of industries including local, state, and federal agencies, Hispanic media, and non-profits. Prior to S360, she worked as the Confidential Executive Assistant to the Mayor of San Diego acting as a day-to-day liaison between the mayor and staff at all levels. Before that, Maria served as Staff Assistant and later District Scheduler/Community Representative for Congresswoman Susan Davis.

Maria is a Haverford College graduate with a B.A in Political Science, minor in Chinese with a concentration in Peace, Justice, and Human Rights. While a student, Maria worked with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and was a member of the student government as Co-President and the Officer of Multiculturalism. Maria received her master’s in China Studies at Zhejiang University International College in 2018. At Zhejiang, Maria was a part of the founding team to create the first legal and independent foreign-only student government in the country and served in a Virtual Student Federal Service of the USA Department of State researching disinformation and propaganda for the Global Engagement Center. Maria is both a fluent speaker in English and Spanish and an intermediate Chinese speaker.

When not working, Maria volunteers for the San Diego Leadership Alliance, the Corporation of Haverford College, and MANA de San Diego. She relaxes by reading history books, camping, and exploring the yard with her cat.
