Burnham Center for Community Advancement (BCCA) is a nonprofit that brings people and communities together to solve the most pressing issues facing the San Diego/Tijuana binational region, to envision the best future for the region, and to collaboratively build that vision.
The new organization needed a magnetic brand to introduce the organization to the region and to help with the first order of business—raising millions to get the Center up and running and achieve some early wins to cement its sustainability going forward. Given the Burnham Center was just getting off the ground, solid brand strategy was essential because it would become the lens through which community leaders, potential donors, and a diverse general public would understand and relate to the BCCA. The brand essence— “Community Forward, Together,” captured the forward momentum inherent in BCCA’s promise and emphasized that only by working together can San Diegans and Tijuanans create the thriving, inclusive binational region they envision.
