News and Updates.

February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. This month is an opportunity to celebrate programs that help students discover their strengths, explore careers, and prepare for what comes next after graduation. At Strategies 360, we know CTE is an essential part of a strong, future-ready education.

Communities Want More CTE

Our research consistently shows that voters strongly support CTE opportunities in schools. When asked how school bonds and levies should be used, voters overwhelmingly prioritize adding or expanding CTE courses and facilities. In fact, increasing CTE is the top funding choice among voters across demographics. This is a clear signal that communities value hands-on learning and real-world preparation.

The Benefits of CTE are Clear

CTE courses allow students to learn by doing, explore career options early, and build confidence through hands-on experience. Whether a student is curious about healthcare, construction, maritime, advanced manufacturing, technology, or fields that extend beyond a traditional career pathway, CTE helps them connect classroom learning to real-world applications. These courses give students the opportunity to see how their skills and interests translate into future opportunities, preparing them for college, apprenticeships, or the workforce.

One of the most powerful aspects of CTE is its flexibility. The skills students develop, like problem-solving, teamwork, and communication, are highly transferable to any path they choose for their future. A single course can spark new interests, broaden perspectives, and open doors to possibilities students may not have previously considered.

Many CTE programs are strengthened by industry partners that help inform curriculum to reflect in-demand skills and workforce needs. These partnerships ensure students are learning relevant, up-to-date skills.

CTE teachers bring energy and passion into the classroom, helping students discover their unique talents and see value in their work. These educators help students find fun, rewarding, and meaningful career paths.

Helping Students see Themselves in Careers

At Strategies 360, we’ve partnered with K-12 districts, colleges, and workforce development organizations to strengthen and expand CTE programs. Our work has helped increase enrollment, boost applications into high-demand career pathways, and build community support for expanding CTE offerings in schools. Through research, communications, and targeted outreach, we help programs connect with students and families who may not otherwise see these opportunities.

Let’s work together to strengthen programs that prepare students not just for their first job, but for a lifetime of learning and success. Send us an email at edteam@strategies360.com
