Alexandria Goddard

Associate of Government Affairs, Oregon

Alexandria Goddard is a life-long Oregonian who puts people and community at the center of her work in public policy. As Associate of Government Affairs in S360’s Oregon office, Alexandria supports clients with all the details they need to keep their policy priorities on track. Her expertise in community-based advocacy, as well as local- and state-government, is key in developing strategies to advance policy and connect client goals with elected officials and public audiences alike.

Alexandria’s political career began as a child with advocacy when she showed up to testify at the State Legislature at age 9. As her organizational and advocacy skills developed, Alexandria took an interest in large-scale protests and community organization. That path led her to public policy and positions as a Legislative Director in the Oregon State Legislature for both state Representative Jules Walter and state Senator Chris Gorsek. Here, she found a passion for both political strategy and coalition management. Through her time at the legislature, Alexandria has championed policy aimed at combatting youth substance use, the rising cost of living, unfair retirement practices, and healthcare inequities. Her ability to move complex legislation through a complicated system, while translating policy for broad audiences, has made her a successful and trusted part of policy discussions. Alexandria’s ability to manage large coalitions has also been key to her success in passing policy and advocating for people.

When not acting in a policy capacity, Alexandria has also supported over ten campaigns with communications services, including messaging, op-ed and editorial writing, and other persuasive content in support of various candidates and issues.

Alexandria has a BS in Urban and Public Affairs from Portland State University, exemplifying her early interest in community-focused policy. During her college years, Alexandria interned for Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici and worked with high school students from her alma mater school to run voter registration drives, which she says kept her close to home and engaged with local community members.
