As Communications Director for S360’s Montana office, Rainier is responsible for crafting solutions to communications needs on a wide range of issues and projects. He navigates clients’ most critical issues through the media and with the public.
Rainier started his career in a communications role on Oregon House Speaker Karen Minnis’ re-election campaign –– an epic contest raising over $1M back in 2006. He also served as Communications Director for Oregon House Co-Speaker Bruce Hanna during a two-year period where there was bi-partisan leadership with a Democrat and Republican Speaker. He was able to work with national press on numerous stories about the unique arrangement, even working with a documentary film crew.
Born and raised on the West Coast outside of Portland, Rainier first moved to Montana to head up public relations for the University of Montana Western in Dillon. He immediately fell in love with the Mountain West and the ample recreational opportunities. He left Montana to serve as Public Information Officer for Redmond School District in Central Oregon. Here, he retooled the way the district disseminated news and interacted with the media, earning them favorable coverage on a regular basis.
Happy to be back in Big Sky Country, you can often find him hiking with his wife and two girls or running on Helena’s vast trail system.
Rainier earned a B.S. in Business Management from Marylhurst University and a certificate of Marketing Strategy from Cornell University.
