With over a decade of political experience in state and local government, Michelle helps clients develop and execute individualized policy strategies that achieve tangible results. She specializes in strategic planning, agenda development, communications and governance. Michelle brings incisive advice and powerful relationship-building to help secure wins for her clients.
Most recently, Michelle helped the city’s economic development and redevelopment agency, Prosper Portland, translate its equity goals into concrete budget proposals. She previously served as Deputy Communications Director and then as Legislative Director in the office of Portland Mayor, Ted Wheeler. There, Michelle developed, promoted and implemented the Mayor’s priorities with a focus on solutions to the city’s housing and homelessness challenges.
Michelle served as a Legislative Assistant to Representative Tina Kotek, where she staffed the House Committee on Rules. She progressed Tuition Equity legislation and coalition building while working for Senator Michael Dembrow. And she focused on public safety, specifically reducing racial and ethnic disparities and juvenile justice issues as an advisor to Multnomah County Commissioner Judy Shiprack.
Born and raised in Portland, Michelle loves the diverse landscapes of Oregon, the local food scene and roots for hometown favorites, the Blazers and the Timbers. Michelle studied History and Romance Languages at the University of Oregon.
