A personality, a creative director, a political commentator and avid consumer of political news, Drexel brings a deep knowledge and passion for politics to the S360 California team. Based in Los Angeles, Drexel guides clients through political and communications strategies for campaigns and advocacy that advance their priority policies. He is well-versed in policy that impacts the lives of Californians and applies that knowledge to creative solutions for his clients.
Throughout his career, Drexel has provided his expertise to both Democrats and Republicans seeking election. His political talents have been impactful in elections in North Carolina, California, and nationally as part of President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns. He also happily utilizes his strong political voice through social media and other media outlets to lead the generation through any political climate.
Drexel joined S360 after serving as the youngest, first Black and LGBTQ, Executive Director of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party, the nation’s largest local Democratic Party representing 3.1 million Democrats. During his time, he was responsible for the increase in registered countywide Democratic voters, strengthening the party operation, the refocusing of grassroots and young democratic participation, raising $2.1 million, and so much more. Now serving as a Senior Advisor to the party, Drexel was previously a marketing and events executive and project supervisor having worked for Universal Studios, Macy’s and more. Drexel sits on several boards including the Board of Advisors and PAC Committee for Equality California, and was the first Black Community Vice President for Stonewall Democrats Los Angeles, and a member of the Los Angeles City Task Force for Youth Development. His political commentary and analyst skills can be found on the BBC Radio, NPR, Channel Q and AfterBuzzTV.
As a military kid, Drexel has called many places here in the US and abroad ‘home.’ He attended North Carolina State University and moved to Los Angeles after five years in New York City. He is an avid golfer, whisky lover, and “West Wing” and “Harry Potter” aficionado.
