A technology professional with more than 18 years of experience, Ben oversees the development and implementation of web projects for the Strategies 360 Web Engineering Group. In this role, Ben leverages technology solutions to enable real-world change.
The Web Engineering Group provides clients with complex, in-depth and highly functional websites, including integration of databases and payment processing. The group can also provide basic, cost effective website stand-ups and manage the entire experience from planning and strategy, to user experience and design to customized back-end engineering.
Ben’s skills and expertise include systems and database architecture, development operations and general software engineering. Having worked on campaign technology since his tenure as Technology Directory of the Gregoire for Governor campaign in 2004, he has seen the entire spectrum of digital solutions that can be brought to bear to make change happen.
Previously, Ben owned and operated a technology firm retaining clients in a number of sectors including advocacy campaigns, education, health care and business. For more than 12 years, his team served as the technical resource for the Downtown Seattle Association, the Municipal Research and Services Center, the Puget Sound Educational Service District and the Snohomish County Health Leadership Coalition.
Ben started his technology career at Microsoft, where he worked from 1999 to 2004 as a Development Lead, heading up a team that built and maintained tools for monitoring the health of the thousands of servers that housed Microsoft’s various online services such as Hotmail. Ben also served as chair of the City of Seattle’s Community Technology Advisory Board, where he helped provide guidance to the Mayor and City Council on issues of digital inclusion and broadband infrastructure.
Ben lives in Seattle with his wife, Lesley, their two kids, Elijah and Naomi, and a silly little dog named Morty. In his spare time he enjoys biking around Seattle with his family, tinkering with robots and enjoying the food of Seattle.
Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Bates College with a secondary concentration in Computer Science.
