Aaron brings more than a decade of experience leading communications efforts for diverse organizations, campaigns, elected officials and government institutions. As the Senior Director of Strategic Communications, he helps clients navigate an ever-changing media and communications landscape.
Prior to joining S360, Aaron worked in communications and policy roles in Oregon state government. Most recently, he supported the transition of Oregon Secretary of State Shemia Fagan as her Press Secretary and Public Information Officer. In addition, Aaron spent more than four years serving the Oregon House Democratic Caucus and two Oregon House Majority Leaders in a variety of roles, including as Communications Director and Interim Chief of Staff. During his time serving the caucus, his strategic communications expertise helped the caucus pass landmark legislation including the Student Success Act and criminal justice reform, as well as elect a historic 38 member supermajority.
Aaron cut his teeth in politics in North Carolina, first as a volunteer on a Lt. Governor’s race in 2012 and then as the Communications Director on a high-profile congressional campaign the following cycle.
In addition to his experience in government and politics, Aaron has worked as a newspaper reporter on the Oregon Coast and he has guided communications for everything from a municipal public arts program to a national motorsports touring series.
Aaron has a B.A. in journalism and mass communication with a second major in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was born in Southern Oregon and was raised between Portland and Charlotte, N.C. When not working, Aaron enjoys spending his time exploring Oregon’s natural beauty with his partner and basset hound, gardening and doing home improvement projects.
