Mary Schuneman
Director of Public Policy
Mary brings two decades of experience advising business and non-profit leaders, and high-profile elected and appointed officials to her position as S360’s Director of Public Policy.
She creates solutions for non-profit organizations, industry associations, local governments and corporations by developing strategic plans for education and outreach, coalition-building and crafting targeted messaging.
Prior to joining S360, Mary served five years as a key staff member to Congressman Norm Dicks on the Olympic Peninsula.
Her career began in Washington, D.C., at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, followed by a move to Arkansas to join the advance team for then-Governor Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign. She became a member of Hillary Clinton’s staff, worked on health care reform in the White House, and then broadened her Clinton Administration portfolio in the public affairs shops of the U.S. Department of Labor, FEMA and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Mary’s extensive experience also includes managing charitable giving and corporate affairs for DreamWorks SKG, and serving as director of corporate communications for a regional workforce training organization-- the San Diego Workforce Partnership.During her leisure time, Mary now focuses energy she once dedicated to distance running and playing competitive soccer on biking, hiking and exploring the Pacific NW with her family and as a devoted fan of Seattle’s sports teams.
A native of Vienna, Virginia, Mary earned a B.A. in Communication from the Ohio State University and has been a West Coast resident for nearly two decades.
