Senior Federal Relations Associate
Melanie’s in-depth knowledge of federal funding programs helps S360 clients find and apply for federal dollars.
Melanie joined S360 as a Senior Federal Relations Associate after four years with Senator Maria Cantwell, where she served as Appropriations and Grants Coordinator, advising on appropriations requests, drafting request letters and discussing requests with the Senate Appropriations Committee. Melanie has completed grant writing seminars through the Foundation Center on proposal writing, proposal budgeting and building relationships with foundations.
During her tenure, Melanie also assisted municipalities, tribes, educational institutions and non-profit organizations in finding and applying for federal grants and loans. Melanie also completed a Congressional Research Service institute program on the federal budget process. The seminar focused on budget resolutions and reconciliation, the appropriations process and the presidential budget.
During her spare time, Melanie is an amateur chef, specializing in French cuisine.
A Washington State native, Melanie was born in Everett and grew up in Bellevue. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and political science.
